The programme is run day to day by 10 people, two of them volunteers, and overseen by five trustees. Between them they cover the car, the driver and the paperwork.
On the circuit
Coaches
Alexander Macalister
Founder (Fondatore) and Head Coach
Two-time Formula 1 World Champion (2024, 2025). Alexander founded the Foundation in 2025 and runs it day to day with Berto. He writes the coaching curriculum and coaches the students himself, on the circuit, in the sim suite and in the instruction room. He came up through karting; the photographs of the tracks he raced on as a boy are on the office wall.
Bruno Galli
Assistant Coach
Bruno is from Carpi, just up the road. He raced karts from the age of five and had one season in Italian F4 before the money ran out, which is why he understands our students better than most. He is not much older than some of them, and he knows when a driver needs pushing and when they need reassurance.
Adamo Bianchi
Performance Education Lead
Head of Performance, Team AM57. Adamo trained in sports science at the University of Bologna and began as a junior strength and conditioning coach at the Ferrari Driver Academy. He brought us the performance-education syllabus fully worked out, wrote it with Berto, and teaches it in the residency blocks. He gives his time to the Foundation as a volunteer.
Elena Vasquez
Contributor, reaction training
Performance Coach, Team AM57. Elena specialises in reactive training and cognitive load, and came to motorsport from the performance centre at FC Barcelona’s youth academy and the Spanish Olympic Committee’s training facility. She wrote several of the reaction drills in our syllabus.
At Bridge HQ
Staff
Berto Marchetti
Director of Operations
Berto has spent 40 years in junior motorsport: Formula 3, Formula Renault, GP3 and Formula 2, and two seasons as a junior mechanic at Minardi. He has worked with around 200 young drivers and seen about 15 of them reach Formula 1. He runs the facility, the calendar and the staff, does the first assessment of every applicant, and is the person families talk to when the news is hard. Born in Modena; lives in Maranello.
Maren Lindqvist
Head of Communications
Trustee since November 2028
Maren leads our communications, from donor reports to the graduating-class profiles, and has been a trustee since November 2028. She raced karts and single-seaters in Sweden as a teenager, studied media and communications at Stockholm University, and also works in communications at Ferrari. Press enquiries come to her.
Ilaria is from Sassuolo and spent years on GT customer-racing programmes before joining us. She runs the kart fleet. Students learn to set up a kart from her, and to put the tools back where they found them.
Davide Sorrentino
Workshop Mechanic
Davide came to Modena from Naples by way of the Formula Regional paddock. He runs the F4 cars and teaches the data-and-spanner sessions: read the lap, then go and find it on the car.
Francesca Lugli
Administrator
Francesca is the person families actually talk to: travel, accommodation, school letters and the rest of the paperwork that decides whether a residency block goes smoothly. She was born in Modena and has never seen a reason to leave.
Paolo ran events at the Autodromo di Modena for most of his career, then semi-retired into the part-time job of keeping ours on schedule. He knows who holds every key on the circuit.
Governance
Board of trustees
The board oversees the Foundation; it does not run it. Maren Lindqvist, listed under staff, is also a trustee. How we are governed.
Chiara Montanari
Chair
Chiara runs her family’s philanthropic foundation, built on ceramics in the Sassuolo district, and has chaired our board since the launch in 2025.
Amy Millie
Trustee; chairs the Finance and Audit Committee
A former corporate lawyer, Amy helped set up the Foundation’s legal framework in 2025 and has been a trustee since. She chairs the Finance and Audit Committee, which reviews the accounts every quarter and approves the annual budget, and she looks after the board’s relationship with the founder.
Kwabena Asante-Reid
Trustee
Kwabena was a race engineer in the junior single-seater categories for a decade before he started teaching motorsport engineering. He leads our outreach beyond Europe, in the Middle East and Africa.
Hélène Duval
Trustee
Hélène was chief financial officer of a mid-sized logistics group in Paris. She sits on the Finance and Audit Committee and is the trustee most likely to ask what a number means.
